Awanas is the centerpiece of the Children’s ministry here at West Point First Baptist Church. Children are taught Scripture in a fun and challenging environment. Every week children get to participate in music, games, and Bible training.
The Awana program is known for how well children develop Biblical knowledge at a young age…We have many committed leaders in our Awana program that are eager to help your child reach their full potential in Christ.
Children’s Church meets each Sunday morning in the Children’s worship center. Children up to third grade are invited to attend after the musical worship is completed in “big Church” This allows the children to worship with their parents and then leave for an age appropriate lesson that they can relate to.
Special Events-There are many special events throughout the year that involve our children. We just finished one of the largest Trunk or Treats in our area where over 600 folks came for fellowship and fun with our Church family! Shoe box ministry at Christmas, Children’s camp, a huge Vacation Bible School in the summer are all part of the Children’s ministry.
Rejoice Choir, Handbell and Boomwhackers choir are all available for our children and are offered in an age graded way. The Rejoice choir is a group of children singing in various services through-out the year. The handbell choir is for our younger children and teaches basic music skills to Christian hymns and songs. The boomwhackers/percussion group is for our 3-6th grade children and is quite simply a blast! Basic music skills are taught in a way that really keeps the children interested!!
